As a small business, we rely on Canada Post's extensive network in urban and rural areas for order delivery across the country. The recent strike notice by the CUPW union on November 15th, 2024 has resulted in the temporary suspension of all Canada Post operations without a definite resolution timeline.
We apologize for any inconvenience or delays this may cause. While this situation is beyond our control, rest assured we are working to maintain the best service possible.
What does this mean?
We have shifted delivery to couriers Purolator and UPS so we are still able to deliver to physical street addresses (ex. "123 King Street") all across Canada. Our shipping rates are highlighted below:
FREE Shipping on all orders over $149
$15.00 Standard Shipping across Canada
$30.00 Express Shipping within the Prairie provinces
$35.00 Express Shipping to the rest of Canada
Conversely, when it comes to rural areas that utilize PO Boxes we are temporarily unable to deliver to these addresses until the Canada Post dispute is resolved.
We are disappointed and frustrated like many Canadians given the importance of the postal service to many small businesses during the holiday season. With this being said, we hope a fair resolution can be reached as soon as possible.
For orders currently in the Canada Post network, we have been told there they are secure but will be delayed. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but hope you can understand the situation we are all dealing with.
For orders that have yet to be fulfilled with PO Boxes, we will get in contact with each customer to discuss alternative delivery options in their area.
Can I order online for pick up at your storefront?
Yes, storefront hours and pick ups will not be affected by the Canada Post work stoppage. You still will be able to select "Pick Up" as a shipping option at checkout, be notified via email when available for pick up, and stop by anytime during store hours - https://prairieproud.ca/pages/store
I still have questions, can I get in touch with you?
Yes, please email contact@prairieproud.ca and we will try to answer your questions to the best of our ability.
We hope this dispute can be solved in a timely manner and ask for your understanding & support throughout this situation. We will continue to update this page as the situation unfolds.
